Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is a short and popular but rewarding trip to the Annapurna region. This Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is popular among trekkers who have limited time in Nepal and do not have previous history of trekking. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek route leads you on an enchanting journey through wide open valleys, sparkling waterfalls and dense forests.

The Poon Hill at an altitude of (3120m) is famous for a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayan ranges it offers such as Mount Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna I 8091m, Machhapuchhre 6998m, Nilgiri 7041m, Annapurna South 7219m, Annapurna II 7939m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, and Lamjung Himal 6988m. It is one of the most spectacular mountain spots where you can enjoy fabulous sunrise and sunset over the Himalaya.

The gorgeous landscapes, green vegetation, the rhododendron forest, different flora and fauna of this region provide you with the lifetime memory. Along with the natural scenery, trekkers get the opportunity to explore the lifestyle and culture of the different ethnic groups like Gurung, Magar, and Thakali.

Day 04: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

Day 06: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk

Day 07: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

Day 08: Fly to Kathmandu

 

 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu  

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Adventure advisor representative will pick you from the Airport and then take you to the hotel. Depending on arrival time after taking some rest, In the Afternoon we take a first stroll through the old town of Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and trek preparation 

After breakfast we will start sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley. Our Guide will take you the Historic and poplar attractions in Katmandu valley. Our first destination for the day will be one of the historic old town of Kathmandu “Kathmandu Durbar square”. Kathmandu Durbar square offers you the largest and oldest temple in the city, the Taleju Pagoda. Around the Royal Palace Hanuman Dhoka are

to see numerous Hindu temples; The warm rust red of the bricks and the rich work harmoniously decorated with carving beams of wooden carvings. In the afternoon we walk up to Swayambunath also known as “Monkey Temple”. The local stupa is considered the largest Sanctuary of the New Aryan Buddhists and rises on a promising hill above the Kathmandu Valley. You can have a nice view of Kathmandu valley for the top. At noon we will have a brief session by our trekking guide.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara and trek to Tikhedhunga via Nayapul    

We will fly to Pokhara early in morning. Pokhara is the tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, Buddhist and Hindu temples along with the magnificent views of mountains. You can observe the glistening white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. From Pokhara we will drive to Naya Pul and we will start our trek till Tikhedhunga.

Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

Flight time: 30 Min / Drive: 1 hour /Trekking: 4-5 hours/ Elevation: 1480 m/ Meal Plan: (B/D/L)

 

Day 04: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

We begin our trek with steep ascend for the first 2 hours and then gently passing through Magar villages of Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti. On the way you can view the Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997m.), Hiunchuli (6441m.) and Annapurna (7219m) south.

Day 05: Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) and then to Tadapani

Early morning hike to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the superb sunrise over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snow capped mountain peaks. After breakfast trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2650 m.).

Trekking: 5-6 hours/ Elevation: 2675 m/ Meal Plan: (B/L/D)

 

Day 06: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk

It is an easy descent all the way, passing through the dense forest of oak, rhododendrons and fir. This is one of the popular destinations for the bird lovers. Ghandruk is a picturesque Gurung village famous for culture and traditional hospitality

Trekking: 3-4 hours/ Elevation: 1940 m/ Meal Plan: (B/L/D)

 

Day 07: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

We leave Ghandruk  and enjoy the beautiful hill landscape of western Nepal on our way to Naya Pul. We have lunch on the way. We  board our vehicle to Pokhara.

Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 08: Fly to Kathmandu

We will fly to Kathmandu with lots of sweet memories. This day will be leisure or you can troll around nearby places on your own. Adventure advisor will host the dinner to celebrate our successful trip of Annapurna.

Day 09: Final Departure

After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Airport.

INSURANCE

Travel insurance is compulsory for all our clients. Travel Insurance should cover personal injuries, helicopter rescue, repatriation expenses e.t.c. We ask our clients to buy Travel insurance for adequate protection against any unforeseen unpleasant events.

 

Climate:

There are four seasons in Nepal : Winter (December – February), Spring (March – May), Summer (June – August), Autumn (September – November). For trekker’s autumn and Spring is considered as the best season for trekking. In autumn the view is clear after Monsoon rain and views spectacular along with fresh lush green vegetation.  In Spring temperature is moderate and trekking can be done with good view of the Himalayas. In winter the temperature remains generally mild, sometimes with windy. These season fewer Trekkers will be on the routes and one can enjoy quiet trails along with incredible view of Himalayas. Monsoon will be there in summer with heavy rain fall along the trails. The days are warmer and longer in this season. Although trekking can be done in this season but the Trails will be steep creating more challenges during the way. Besides, trekking all other types of tours in Nepal can be done all over the year. The summer may be disturbing sometimes but the essence of the tours remains the same.

 

Accommodations:

3* accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhera on bed and breakfast basis. In Chitwan accommodation will be arranged on 3* along with full board meal. All accommodations are on Double bed/twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request with additional cost. Extra day’s accommodation are subject to availability. During trek, trekkers will accommodate in Tea houses/Lodges. They serve Breakfast and Dinner with the menu available in Teahouse/Lodge. Lunch will be served along the way in tea houses.

 

First aid kit and Emergency:

During the trips our guide carries the First aid kit with them. However you can also bring personal first aid kit with you. Rescue assistance (Should any emergency arise during your trek, we will provide prompt and professional rescue and medical services. For this, it would be better to have your own travel insurance that can cover situations like: helicopter evacuation, medical treatment cost e.t.c. in case required.)

The price does not include:

  • Lunch and Dinner in Kathmandu and Pokhera ( Cost for Lunch/Dinner will be 15-20 USD per person per day)

  • Personal expense ( Charges, hot shower , extra baggage charges, extra porter charges, additional activities )
  • Travel and rescue insurance
  • International flights
  • Tips and gratuities. (Tipping in Nepal is generally common. Although it is not mandatory but expected) 
  • Nepal visa ( On arrival Multiple Tourist visa for 15 days can be obtained by paying USD 25 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, Tourist visa with Multiple for 30 and 90 days can be obtained by paying US40 and USD100 respectively). Please bring 2 passport size pictures for the visa process.
  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara because of early arrival, late departure, early return from mountain (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary
  • Lunch and evening meals in Kathmandu and Pokhara (and also in the case of early return from the mountain than the scheduled itinerary)
  • Any cost not included in Service include section.
