Pashupatinath, Nepal's most valued Hindu temple, is nestled along the banks of the sacred Bagmati River on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu. This temple is a devout dedication to Lord Shiva, embodying both the aspects of creation and destruction. It is a solemn place often used for cremation rituals, where the departed are laid upon a wooden pyre, wrapped in a cloth, and set aflame. On the opposite bank of the river, one can observe the intricate steps of these sacred cremation ceremonies. We strongly advise showing the utmost respect and reverence during these funeral rituals.
