Upon arrival in Kathmandu, a friendly representatives will meet us at the airport, assist with our luggage, and escorts us to our hotel. After some rest, we'll meet our trek leader and team members for a pre-trip discussion, where we can put any questions about the itinerary and our journey. In the evening, AAN will host a special welcome dinner for us. We'll enjoy delicious Nepalese cuisine and bond with fellow trekkers. This culinary experience will immerse us in Nepal's food culture, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere to start our adventure on the right tone.Overnight In Kathmandu
We'll have a stunning 40-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla offering breathtaking views of towering mountain peaks. Upon landing in Lukla, the gateway to our trek, we'll meet our crew members and prepare our gear with their assistance. This marks the start of our trek.
We'll have a one-hour gradual descent to reach Cheplung village, where we'll see Mt. Khumbila a sacred unclimbed mountain. Continuing our descent, we'll reach Phakding, where we'll spend the night. The trek offers beautiful landscapes, and staying in Phakding overnight allows us to rest and acclimate before continuing our journey.
Our trek starts with a picturesque walk through a pine forest and follows the Benkar valley northward. We'll cross the Dudh Koshi River and pass through Chumoa and Monjo, the entrance to Everest National Park. After crossing a suspension bridge, we'll continue along the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers, through the lovely village of Jorsale. As we climb steeply, we'll reach Namche Bazaar, the heartland of the Sherpa community.
Weather permitting, we'll get a chance to see the magnificent Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse just an hour before reaching Namche Bazaar. It's a breathtaking experience that will leave a lasting impression. We'll spend the night in Namche Bazaar, where we can relax and immerse ourselves in the town's rich culture and history.
Today is an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, the Khumbu region's main hub. Here, we can explore various activities and get used to the higher altitude. Namche Bazaar has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, and a lively market. Our guides will help us explore the town and experience its true charm.
For hiking enthusiasts, a trek to Sagarmatha National Park is a must. This hike offers a stunning sunrise view and panoramic vistas of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and more. Alternatively, you can opt for a day hike to Khumjung village a picturesque Sherpa settlement. While exploring Namche Bazaar, you'll experience traditional Sherpa life and visit the Khumjung Hillary School. You'll also get a chance to appreciate the high-altitude flora and fauna. We'll spend the night in Namche Bazaar, preparing for the upcoming journey.
In this exciting part of the trek, we'll descend to the Dudh-Koshi River, then climb through beautiful rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche. Along the way, we'll enjoy breathtaking views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and more. Once in Tengboche, we'll explore the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest and most respected in the region, with spectacular views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. We will stay overnight in Tengboche, rejuvenating ourselves for the upcoming leg of our adventure."
From Tengboche, our journey continues with a descent through lush forests, including birch, conifers, and rhododendrons. Along the way, we'll be treated to stunning views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. We'll pass through Pangboche, crossing the Imja River and enjoying a picturesque trail that offers pristine Himalayan views and the Pangboche Monastery. We'll then head towards the Imja Valley and Lobuche River before ascending to Dingboche. On this route, we'll encounter beautiful fields protected by stone walls, where barley, buckwheat, and potatoes thrive despite the cold winds and grazing animals. Our night will be spent in Dingboche.
Dingboche is a popular stop for trekkers and climbers en route to Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, or Imja Tse. The village's beauty lies in its surroundings, with fields shielded by stone walls, nurturing barley, buckwheat, and potatoes despite the harsh weather and grazing animals. We'll spend a day acclimatizing in Dingboche and can opt for day hikes to Nagarjun Hill or Chukkhung Valley. These hikes offer breathtaking views of Makalu, Lhotse, Chalotse, Tawache, and Ama Dablam.
Today we walk along the arid terrace. These trails provide us with awesome views of mountains on all sides. As we come to a yak herder's place called Dusa, the valley begins to narrow and we continue through Phulung Karpo, the camp site of the first successful Everest Expedition in 1953.
Moving forward, we arrive at the imposing Khumbu Glacier moraine, where we are greeted by awe-inspiring vistas of prominent peaks such as Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and the majestic Mahalangur Himal range. The path subsequently eases as we meander through the valley towards Lobuche. We will spend the night in Lobuche.
Today, we pass through the pyramid sign post. Ahead on the trail we see crest of north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. Climbing steeply up to the top through the torrent of Changri Glacier, we catch our first glimpse of Kala Patthar, a grey-green knoll beneath the Mt. Pumori. As we reach Gorak Shep, we will find snow-capped mountains looming all around us including the top of the world - Mt. Everest. The sunset view from Kala Patthar is more admirable than the sunrise view, so it is suggested to visit Kala Patthar today during sunset. As the setting sun's rays strike the snow capped mountains the resulting scenery is indescribable. For those trekkers who wish to continue to Kala Patthar, our guides and Sherpas coordinate in hiking to Kala Patthar for amazing sunset view today rather than waiting until the next day. Overnight in Gorak Shep at a local lodge.
We start early in the morning to catch the dramatic views from Kala Patthar witnessing the first light of day shining on Mount Everest. Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself emerging between the west shoulder crest and Nuptse. During the ascent to Kala Patthar, we can pause to catch our breath at several outstanding view points to snap pictures. After several hours of an ascent, we reach Kala Patthar. On being back to Gorak Shep, we have breakfast and wait other participants to return back.
Those participants who will visit Everest Base Camp today will have early breakfast to start early as Everest base camp hike takes longer time (4-5 hrs) than the Kala Patthar hike. Upon return back to Gorak Shep, the group will have lunch together; and afternoon time is taken to descend down to Pheriche for a good night's rest.
We continue descend through the hillside blanketed by rhododendron and juniper trees. In the spring, pink and red rhododendron flowers ablaze our surroundings. Upon crossing the bridge decorate with prayer flags spanning the Dudh Koshi River, we continue our trek along the Dudh Koshi gorge, rapidly descending through fragrant pine forests. Along this path, we may have the opportunity to spot colorful pheasants and mountain goats. Eventually, the trail leads us to Sansa which is the major trail junction in the region. We stop at Kyangjuma for a relaxed lunch, where we catch awe-inspiring vistas of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse mountains. We navigate winding forest trails and passing a Chorten we eventually reaching the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar. Our overnight stay will be in Namche Bazaar.
The path descends steeply, demanding careful steps as we navigate the rugged terrain with our tired legs. As we cross the suspension bridges spanning the swiftly flowing Dudh Koshi, the path gradually becomes more easier. Upon reaching Lukla, we can finally relieve our fatigued legs, reflecting on the adventures of the past few weeks. This evening offers a chance to savor our final moments in the mountains, sharing tales and cherished memories with our fellow trekkers and guides. We will spend our last night in Lukla.
Early fly back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu we can rest and relax throughout the day at hotel. Rest of the day free for individual activities. One can go for shopping for the souvenirs or choose to explore different parts of the city with the guidance of our experienced guides. Evening, farewell dinner along with cultural show.
Today our adventure in Nepal come at the end to say good bye. Collecting memories we proceed for the airport. Our representative will escorts you to the airport.
