Upon arrival in Kathmandu, a friendly representatives will meet us at the airport, assist with our luggage, and escorts us to our hotel. After some rest, we'll meet our trek leader and team members for a pre-trip discussion, where we can put any questions about the itinerary and our journey. In the evening we'll enjoy delicious Nepalese cuisine and bond with fellow trekkers. This culinary experience will immerse us in Nepal's food culture, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere to start our adventure on the right tone. Overnight In Kathmandu.
On the second day, embark on a day tour to acclimate before our trek. Kathmandu, a city steeped in artistry, boasts beautiful palaces, ancient temples, and significant historical and cultural structures. With seven out of ten UNESCO-listed world heritage sites, Kathmandu is a treasure trove of cultural richness. Today, a guided exploration awaits you at these UNESCO-listed sites, showcasing Nepal's profound history, unique culture, and architectural marvels. Begin your journey at Kathmandu Durbar Square, where the palaces, temples, and monuments exhibit exquisite art, crafts, and carvings. Subsequently, visit Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa, each contributing to the city's cultural tapestry. Enjoy a comprehensive experience.
Today marks our departure from Kathmandu as we journey north towards Syabrubensi, a roughly seven-hour drive via bus or jeep. The scenic route unfolds with hills and lush countryside landscapes, offering a picturesque drive. Passing through Dhunche, we traverse a trail that spans the Trishuli River, affording a brief glimpse of Ganesh Himal. As we continue, villages and farmlands accompany our route, leading us deep into the region until we finally reach Syabrubensi. Our accommodation for the night is at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi.
Embarking on our trek from Syabrubensi, we enjoy a delightful walk amidst pristine surroundings. En route, we traverse traditional villages, gradually ascending to a viewpoint that unveils captivating vistas of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges. Descending from the viewpoint, we enter the Goljung Valley, winding our way through villages and farmlands until we arrive at the vibrant Tamang village of Galtang. We stay overnight at a guesthouse in Galtang.
Continuing our journey from Galtang, we descend to Thangbuche, situated in close proximity to Chilime village. As we approach, the ongoing Chilime Hydropower project near the Bhotekoshi River becomes evident. Passing by the Chilime Hydropower dam, we ascend through the trail until reaching Tatopani. The name Tatopani, derived from two Nepali words - "Tato" meaning hot and "Pani" meaning water, aptly describes the nature of this place: a location with natural hot springs. Tonight's good night rest at a guesthouse in Tatopani.
In the early morning, indulge in a rejuvenating hot water bath at the natural springs of Tatopani to invigorate your mind and body. Following breakfast, our journey continues towards the next Tamang village in the Langtang region. En route to Brimdang, a small Tamang settlement surrounded by dense alpine forests, we trek uphill to Nagthali Hill. From the hill's summit, breathtaking views of Langtang Himal, Sanjeng Kerung, Ganesh Himal, and other peaks unfold. Descending from Nagthali, we reach the Tamang village of Thuman, and from there, we descend further to the village of Timur. This Tamang settlement marks our resting place for the night, with accommodation provided at a guesthouse in Timur.
Advancing on our journey, we make our way to another Tamang village steeped in Buddhism. Continuing from Timur through Lingling, we arrive at Briddim, nestled in the embrace of Langtang Himal. This picturesque village is profoundly influenced by Tibetan Buddhist culture, closely resembling Tibetan villages due to its proximity to the border. The prevalence of Tibetan Buddhist practices is evident in the prayer flags, mani walls, and chortens lining the path. We explore the village's Dukchu Gompa monastery. Our accommodation for the night is at a guesthouse in Briddim.
Descending from Briddim, we traverse through the verdant countryside, passing through diverse settlement areas and farmlands en route to Syabrubensi. Our goodnight stay is at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi.
Departing from Syabrubensi, we drive back the scenic way through countryside landscape to the capital city of Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we check into the hotel and unwind rest of the day roaming around thamel. Today marks the conclusion of our adventure in Nepal. A representative from AAN will accompany us to the airport. As we journey homeward, there's ample time to reflect and plan for our next adventure in the captivating country of Nepal.
