Our first stop is Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site adorned with ancient palaces, temples, and shrines, renowned for their intricate carvings. Continuing our journey, we venture to Bhaktapur, a city that has gracefully preserved its ancient allure. Bhaktapur Durbar Square, yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site, awaits our exploration, showcasing the historical richness of the region. Embark on a breathtaking hour-long trans-Himalayan flight to Lhasa, Tibet, during the early morning hours. As we soar through the sky, the flight offers awe-inspiring views of majestic peaks such as Everest (8,848m) and Kanchenjunga (8,536m), along with other Himalayan wonders like glaciers. Upon reaching Lhasa, a representative from AAN will warmly welcome us at the airport, providing transportation for an approximately one-hour drive to our designated hotel in Lhasa. It is recommended to prioritize ample rest for the remainder of the day to acclimatize and minimize the effects of altitude sickness.Overnight stay in Lhasa.

Explore Lhasa's cultural gems today, starting with the 17th-century marvel, Potala Palace. Offering panoramic views of the city, the palace features the Dalai Lama's private quarters, elaborate state rooms, and sacred chapels. Sera Monastery, adorned with white-washed walls and golden roofs, awaits our visit as a well-preserved Tibetan monastery. Delve into the profound mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism at Jokhang Temple, another significant sacred site. Wander through the vibrant Barkhor Bazaar, the bustling heart of Lhasa, with its open-air stalls, shops, and a lively crowd of pilgrims.An overnight stay in Lhasa follows, enriched with the cultural treasures explored during the day.

After breakfast, our journey takes us to Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city. Driving through the picturesque landscapes, we traverse the Khamba La Pass (4,794m), offering stunning views of Yomdrok-Tso (Turquoise Lake) and the majestic Mt. Nazin Kang Sa (7,252m), one of Tibet's sacred peaks. Continuing westward, the Karo La Pass (5045m) treats us to breathtaking views of magnificent glaciers.An overnight stay in Shigatse completes the day's exploration.

Upon reaching Gyantse, we explore its cultural treasures, including the Khumbum Stupa, Phalkot Monastery, and the well-preserved Gyantse Dzong (fortress). Gyantse Dzong stands as one of the finest preserved dzongs in Tibet. Our journey then leads us to Shigatse, allowing us to soak in the captivating mountain landscapes along the way.

Begin the day with a visit to Shigatse's iconic Tashilhunpo Monastery, founded by Gendun Drup, the first Dalai Lama, in 1447. This monastery holds significant historical and cultural importance. Following this enriching visit, the journey continues to Shegar via Sakya.In Sakya, explore the Sakya Monastery, the ancestral temple of the Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The day's drive takes us across the scenic Tso La (4,500/14,763ft) and Gyatso La (5,220m/17,125ft) passes, offering breathtaking views. As the evening approaches, we arrive in Shegar, a quaint town, where we will spend the night.

Arriving at the base of the world's highest mountain is a remarkable achievement in itself. Take time to capture the breathtaking Himalayan panorama with the towering Mt. Everest as the centerpiece, creating a stunning backdrop for memorable photographs.Afterward, we drive back to Rongbuk and visit the Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery on earth. The overnight stay in Rongbuk allows for further immersion in the unique atmosphere of this high-altitude region. Please note that, on rare occasions, unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather or political issues may lead to the temporary closure of the road to Everest Base Camp for safety reasons, without prior notice.

A short distance from Zhangmu, we cross the Bhote Koshi River to reach the immigration control in Kodari, where custom formalities are completed. Continuing our drive, we reach our ultimate destination, The Last Resort, situated on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River.

Experience the thrill of white-water rafting in the Bhotekoshi River, tackling challenging rapids and enjoying serene stretches surrounded by natural beauty. Nestled at the base of the Churia range, Chitwan is renowned for the Chitwan National Park, Nepal's first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, choose between a thrilling jungle safari or a leisurely nature walk, depending on the time. The jungle safari takes you deep into the heart of the park, providing opportunities to spot deer, the endangered one-horn rhinoceros, and other wildlife. If luck is on our side, we might even catch a glimpse of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. Alternatively, the nature walk offers a chance to appreciate diverse flora and fauna while enjoying some bird watching. End the day with an overnight stay in Chitwan, marking the transition from the bustling city to the tranquility of the national park.

Embrace your inner animal lover with a thrilling day in Chitwan National Park. In the early morning, embark on an elephant-back jungle safari through dense grasslands, immersing yourself in the natural habitat of diverse wildlife. After a satisfying breakfast, visit the elephant stables and participate in the enjoyable activity of bathing the elephants. In the afternoon, choose between a jungle drive followed by a serene canoe ride down the Rapti River. During the canoeing experience, observe Gharial and Mugger Crocodiles, along with freshwater dolphins, otters, and various water birds. Alternatively, engage in bird-watching or a nature walk to get up close with the park's rich flora and fauna. As the day winds down, attend an optional presentation on the diverse flora and fauna of Chitwan National Park. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Chitwan, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

Arriving in Kathmandu in the evening, mark the successful completion of our journey with a celebratory farewell dinner.

Today marks the conclusion of our unforgettable adventure in Nepal and Tibet. An AAN representative will accompany us to the airport on time for our scheduled flight, ensuring a smooth departure.
